SASA Polyester: Workers Protesting Over Unpaid Wages Are Employees of the Subcontractor, Not Our Company

SASA Polyester stated that the workers who protested due to not receiving their salaries are employees of a subcontractor firm, not the company itself.

In a statement made today, SASA Polyester clarified that, "The workers protesting due to not receiving their salaries are related to the workers of the subcontractor firm, not our company."

The statement included the following points: "It has been observed that recent news sources on the internet and social media platforms report that workers at the SASA Polyester A.Ş. factory have protested over unpaid wages. We would like to emphasize that these news reports and social media posts relate to the workers of subcontractor firms, with no relation to our employees. The claims mentioned in these reports do not pertain to SASA employees, and as a result of our commitment to worker rights and social security, all payments within our company are meticulously monitored, and no disruptions have occurred. SASA has no debts to the subcontractor firm that the workers have complained about for not being paid; on the contrary, SASA has receivables from this subcontractor.

As SASA, we always take all necessary measures to ensure full compliance with labor law and legal regulations. Our employees are not only a workforce; they are foundational elements of our company's success. Protecting their rights and providing a fair and safe working environment is our fundamental principle. We would like to reiterate that we will continue to advocate for all rights of our employees and that we will not make any concessions in this regard.

We expect all subcontractor firms we collaborate with to fully meet their legal and financial obligations to their employees. However, the workers experiencing these problems are employees of subcontractors providing various services on our site and have no employment relationship with SASA. Therefore, it is the subcontractor firm employing the related workers that is responsible for paying these workers' wages, not SASA. Our company has not been part of any situation that triggers such problems and has fulfilled all its obligations to its employees. Issues that subcontractors may encounter regarding their internal processes and employees are solely matters that the respective firms can resolve.

To prevent such misunderstandings, to provide accurate information to the public, and to maintain our strong ties with our employees, investors, and society, we are continuously enhancing our communication and collaboration with all our partners.

To mitigate the negative perception in the public domain and to emphasize the value SASA places on its employees, we will continue to make all necessary statements, maintain all communication efforts, and show due respect to workers and laborers at all times.

We would like to announce that we will take the necessary legal actions against individuals, institutions, and organizations attempting to create false and misleading news against our company, reserving all our rights arising from the law, and present this to the public with our respects."
